As we get older our knees struggle to hold our weight and start to let us down.
You’re more likely to experience knee pain as you get older, and people who are overweight or do lots of sports have a higher risk of damaging their knees. Some sports that involve a lot of turning, such as football, netball and skiing, carry a particularly high risk of knee injuries.
The knee joint is particularly vulnerable to damage and pain because it takes the full weight of your body and any extra force when you run or jump.

Common causes of knee pain

Common causes of knee pain include:
sprains and strains
anterior knee pain (pain around the kneecap)
menisci or cartilage damage
bursitis (housemaid’s knee)
torn ligaments or tendons

How do we treat knee pain specifically?

We treat knee pain by locating where the site of injury is. This may seem strange, but for most people, their injury isn’t necessarily in their knee. The injury could be found in the:
sole of the foot
If you have any injury at the top of your thigh muscle, the tendon connecting that muscle to your knee cap will feel the strain. The same would go for the lower leg muscles, the groin etc.
We also treat the back of the knee to stimulate lymph circulation. The human body has a number of sites where lymph nodes sit, and one is the popliteal lymph nodes which are found of the back of the knee. By stimulating the lymph nodes, we can reduce swelling, pain and improve circulation within one treatment.

What can we do at Advanced Healing Therapies to help?

Using our technology we treat the area affected for just under an hour.
Pain, inflammation and muscle spasms often result when muscles, ligaments or tendons are injured. The circulation in the injured areas is effected adversely. There is an accumulation of lactic acid and other waste products in the tissues. This slows the healing process.
The Acuscope and Myopulse simultaneously measure and balance the abnormal electrical resistance in injured tissue. The electrical conductance of the injured tissue is examined and compared to a preprogrammed parameters for healthy tissue. When electrical conductance is outside the normal, healthy range, the instruments change the wave form, frequency, intensity and polarity to restore the tissue integrity to promote healing.
There is little or no sensation because micro-current energy is similar to the energy inside the body. Micro-currents are one-millionth the strength of household current. They are compatible with the body’s bioelectrical communication system and support the self-healing feedback mechanism already present at the cellular level. The effects of micro-currents on the healing process has been documented in the scientific literature for many years.
When this energy is introduced into the cells, circulation, lymphatic drainage, waste product removal, cellular metabolism improve. The flow of other forms of biological energy similar to chi or vital force is accelerated. Acidic waste products are flushed from the tissues and the body’s healing powers are accentuated. This results in an accelerated healing response at the cellular level, leading to reduction of pain and improved function.

Testimonial  I recently had a knee problem which was gradually getting more painful. I went to see Sue as she had previously treated me for a similar problem six years ago.   She diagnosed the issue which was damage to my calf and a tight hamstring. These two combined were causing my knee to give me increasing discomfort and pain. My knee, calf and hamstring were treated using Sue's treatment and therapies.  After the treatment the swelling in my knee went down straight away and over the last 10 days the pain has gradually reduced and now gone. The flexibility in my knee is now back to normal.I I spend all day on my feet so getting this quickly resolved was important ..... I am able to work normally without pain.   I fully recommend Advance Healing Therapies - very professional and efficient and was impressed with the explaination of the diagnosis and subsequent treatment and great results.
